An opportunity exists for a Teacher Aide to contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with preparation and enhancement of learning materials.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.13FTE), 10 hours per fortnight.

About the School

Thallon State School is a small rural primary school in south-west Queensland, providing education for students from Prep to Year 6 in a close-knit and supportive community. About the Role

  • Assisting in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of a teacher
  • Working with small groups as well as individual students
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member
  • Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs
  • Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families
  • Assist with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources
  • Undertake clerical assistance duties including typing teachers' notes and programs, photocopying teaching materials, collation and duplication of exam papers, recording of examination results, compiling students' results records, assisting in organising off-site activities
  • Assist in preparing, storing, distributing and clearing away teaching equipment and materials
  • Contribute to the welfare, health and safety of students, including the delivery of first aid
