We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse to the Preventative health Pathways program at Gympie Hospital.

The Clinical Nurse role functions within the Preventative Health Pathways program which is a multidisciplinary team that promotes integrated service provision across the continuum, consistent with principles of client self-management and Hospital Avoidance. The Clinical Nurse is a member of the multidisciplinary team and will be able to demonstrate a high degree of autonomy as well as provide leadership, and oversight to less experienced nurses and students as delegated. The Clinical Nurse will deliver services on health promotion, chronic disease management, illness prevention and early intervention for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Clinical Nurse reports operationally to the Advanced Exercise Physiologist (Clinical Manager) and professionally to the Nursing Director, Extended Care Service – Community and Preventative Health.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Advanced planning, coordination, and clinical management skills to autonomously manage and prioritise own workload while also providing leadership and clinical direction.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team, patients, community, and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to achieve work unit outcomes.
  • Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, workplace health and safety and ethical behaviour.

Remuneration value up to $139 252 p.a., comprising salary between $113 979 - $122 048 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (NRG6(1)).
