Your Opportunity

As the Coordinator, Construction Tech you will:

  • Contribute to the achievement of Centre of Excellence Strategic and Operational objectives as directed by Manager, Centre of Excellence.

This position reports to the Manager, Centre of Excellence.

This is a Temporary, Full-Time opportunity, to 31 December 2028 unless otherwise determined.

The primary location for this position is flexible, however you may be required to perform work at any TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and undertake specific activities as allocated by Manager, Centre of Excellence.
  • Liaise with regional staff and stakeholders (internal and external clients) to identify and analyse project requirements, and produce an action plan.
  • Manage and prioritise the strategic and operational aspects of Centre of Excellence including the preparation of reports, spreadsheets, planning documentation and other written correspondence utilising a range of computer software packages.
  • Identify legislative and other parameters within which the Centre of Excellence is to be undertaken.
  • Manage the activities relating to the Centre of Excellence to enable completion within defined timeframes.
  • Manage the budget, accounts and revenue associated with the Centre of Excellence activity.
  • Monitor the progress including the establishment of performance indicators and the maintenance of a quality record system to meet requests for information and for statistical and planning purposes.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication links with management by providing regular reports and feedback on activities.
  • Prepare recommendations and strategies to facilitate the implementation of the Centre of Excellence KPIs.
  • Contribute to the achievement of quality policies by encouraging an environment where high quality work is achieved and is supported by the adherence and development of quality system documentation.
  • Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  • Possess highly developed leadership and team management skills as demonstrated by effectiveness in achieving organisational objectives and contributing to enhanced organisational performance.
  • Possess high level analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills as evidenced by a record of achievement in the solution of complex problems within a competitive environment, preferably related to vocational education.
  • Possess well developed knowledge of and skill in the application and utilisation of computerised management information systems and software packages (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet and database packages).
  • Demonstrate achievement in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of programs which may include curriculum initiatives, training programs, joint industry and government programs, organisational development programs.
  • Possess highly developed written communication and interpersonal skills, including a proven ability to effectively liaise, consult, negotiate and manage multiple relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Highly Desirable Requirements

  • Advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database packages skills.
