Healthcare Purchasing and System Performance Division is looking for a dedicated Principal Project Officer to join the Surgery Connect Program. This senior role is responsible for contributing to project planning and execution, tracking progress against milestones, delivering high-quality outputs, mentoring team members and driving strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and optimal impact.
What you'll do
As the Principal Project Officer, you will lead projects of significant scope and strategic importance to the Surgery Connect program, applying your strong knowledge of healthcare system workflows and contemporary project management methodologies. You will drive the development and delivery of strategic initiatives, proactively identify and manage risks, and work closely with stakeholders to achieve high‑quality outcomes within required timeframes. The role involves building strong relationships across the organisation, supporting process redesign, innovation and change, delivering training and engagement activities, and preparing high‑quality briefings and reports in line with Queensland Health requirements, while operating in accordance with Queensland Health's values and priorities.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- Demonstrated experience leading policy and project management activities and delivering high‑quality outcomes within tight timeframes in complex environments.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to assess complex information from multiple sources, identify risks or issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Highly developed consultation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to represent the organisation on matters of significant impact.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and provide leadership that supports, motivates, and develops staff to achieve shared goals.
