The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations. Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.
About the Role
The Commercial Manager Integration works in the space between delivery packages, dealing with commercial issues that emerge when multiple contracts and delivery models have to operate as one program. Operating across Public Private Partnership and Alliance environments, the role focuses on issues that sit at contract boundaries and cannot be resolved within a single package.
Supporting the Lead Integrator function, this role is exposed to some of the most complex and consequential commercial problems on the program. It offers the opportunity to apply established contracts experience to broader, program‑wide issues involving competing interests, trade‑offs and interdependencies, working across delivery, engineering, legal and commercial teams on matters that materially affect how the railway is delivered and integrated. This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until March 2029.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex commercial issues that arise at the interfaces between delivery packages, where outcomes depend on alignment across more than one contract or delivery scope
- Identify and address commercial and contractual risks associated with package interfaces across Public Private Partnership and Alliance environments
- Develop and progress commercial pathways for integration and interface issues, balancing contractual position, delivery impact and program‑level considerations across multiple contracts.
- Support the Lead Integrator function by working on commercial issues that cut across delivery packages and cannot be resolved within a single contractual framework.
- Prepare clear, evidence‑based commercial analysis, options and recommendations to support decision‑making.
- Lead or contribute to commercial negotiations relating to integration and interface matters, ensuring agreed outcomes are practical, defensible and aligned with program objectives
- Develop, manage and maintain cross‑package agreements and interface arrangements required to support effective integration and coordinated delivery across contracts
- Coordinate inputs from delivery, engineering, legal, program controls and external advisers to progress resolution of complex commercial issues
- Ensure commercial correspondence, notices and supporting documentation are accurate, consistent and aligned across affected contracts
About You:
- Senior experience in commercial, contracts or legal roles within major infrastructure or complex delivery environments, including exposure to cross‑package, interface or integration issues
- Ability to take ownership of commercial issues, apply sound analysis to competing considerations, and develop clear, defensible commercial positions
- Strong commercial judgement in navigating commercial risk, incentives, claims, contractual disputes and negotiations
- Strong written communication skills, including preparation of clear commercial analysis, advice and briefing material
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across contractors, executives and government entities, with the ability to build credibility and trust
- Relevant tertiary qualification desirable
