About the Role
The Rapid Response (RR) Capability team focuses on capability uplift and operational readiness across youth justice services. The team identifies gaps, analyses needs, and develops tailored solutions to enhance workforce development, with a focus on frontline roles.
As the Principal Community Services Officer, you will deliver high-quality youth justice services by providing operational, analytical, and administrative expertise. You will ensure capability-building initiatives align with departmental priorities, the Youth Justice Strategy, and relevant policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide operational, analytical, and administrative support to deliver high-quality youth justice services.
- Demonstrate cultural capability and support programs that preserve cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Align strategic planning with operational activities.
- Analyse data to monitor the effectiveness of capability-building initiatives.
- Prepare reports and presentations to inform decision-making and identify trends.
- Promote learning through mentoring, training, and communication materials.
- Build partnerships with stakeholders to deliver effective youth justice services.

Mandatory Information and Requirements
Work hours: Work outside standard hours may be required, with remuneration determined by applicable award provisions.
Travel: Travel within the region, including overnight stays and flights to remote locations, may be required.
Screening: Successful applicants will undergo criminal history checks or Blue Card screening.
Disclosure: Applicants must disclose any pre-existing conditions under the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 if requested in writing.
