The Office of the Deputy Commissioner Community Corrections and Specialist Operations (ODC CCSO) is a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with a small team responsible for providing strategic and operational support to the Deputy Commissioner, Community Corrections and Specialist Operations (CCSO) governance systems and oversight to the division and acts as a conduit between PBQ and QCS service delivery.

In the role of Senior Advisor, you will ensure all Ministerial, Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and Executive correspondence for CCSO are of a high standard and processed within specified timeframes..
In this role you will:
- Manage a high volume of correspondence received in the ODC CCSO inbox and provide timely responses to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain strict confidentiality at all times and manage sensitive and business critical information.
- Deliver high level briefings to the Deputy Commissioner, CCSO.
- Manage correspondence flow from the ODC CCSO to the other two Office of the Deputy Commissioners as required to ensure the timely consideration of all Commissioner and Minister briefings.
- Develop, monitor and evaluate systems and processes that support the efficient flow of all CCSO correspondence (in/out).
- Prepare and draft high quality briefing notes and correspondence on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner, CCSO.
- Co-ordinate, critically examine and quality assure all Ministerial, Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and other QCS documents to ensure accuracy of content, standard of presentation and compatibility with government policy, legislative requirements and in accordance with the QCS Writing Style Guide.
- Show a high level of discerning judgement with the associated ability to interpret when information is missing, not relevant or high risk/sensitive and reframe accordingly.
- Liaise extensively and maintain networks with all senior executives and peers to ensure the coordination of documentation including follow-up action in the compilation and finalisation of briefings, possible parliamentary questions, questions on notice and other correspondence within required timeframes.
- Undertake specific projects, tasks and report on emerging issues as requested by the Staff Officer or Director, Parole Board Liaison.
- Manage and audit MINCOR access as required.
- Support and provide in house training to the CCSO Commands ensuring efficient and effective use of the MINCOR system and workflows.
- Undertake research and investigations on issues and provide consistent advice to senior management within CCSO Commands in relation to emerging and topical issues.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of CCSO issues, business and services to stay in touch with emerging issues, business and community needs.
The role description provides the minimum requirements for the role. The incumbent may be required to undertake other duties as required outside of these primary accountabilities.
