Lead a critical HR Centre Services function supporting Queensland Corrective Services correctional centres across the state. As Manager, Human Resources – Centre Services, you will lead HR business partnering and centre-based HR service delivery across a complex, operational and highly unionised frontline environment.
This role provides strategic and operational HR leadership across payroll and timesheet support, rostering and workforce management, establishment management and advisory services. We are seeking an experienced, values-led HR leader who can manage dispersed teams, build capability, strengthen consistent service delivery, support change initiatives and provide trusted advice to senior stakeholders.

Queensland Corrective Services is seeking an experienced and capable HR leader to join People Capability Command as Manager, Human Resources - Centre Services.
HR Centre Services provides strategic and operational human resources support to correctional centres across Queensland. The function supports a large, dispersed and operational workforce operating in a 24/7 frontline environment. Services include HR advisory and business partnering, payroll and timesheet support, rostering and workforce management, establishment management, and consistent HR practice across correctional centres.
As Manager, Human Resources - Centre Services, you will lead a portfolio of Principal Consultant Human Resources Business Partners and centre-based HR teams. You will provide leadership, direction and oversight to ensure high quality, consistent and responsive HR services are delivered to senior leaders, managers, supervisors and employees across correctional centres.
This is a key leadership role requiring strong judgement, contemporary HR knowledge, people leadership capability and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, highly unionised and changing service delivery environment.
In this role you will:
- lead and manage a centralised HR function supporting correctional centres across Queensland;
- provide leadership to HRBPs and local HR teams to build capability, consistency and service delivery performance;
- oversee operational HR services including payroll, timesheet support, rostering, workforce management and establishment management;
- provide strategic and operational advice to senior leaders and stakeholders on complex HR matters;
- support effective governance, compliance and consistent application of HR policy, practice and process;
- build and maintain strong relationships with correctional centre leaders, HR teams, industrial relations specialists and corporate partners;
- contribute to service improvement, change initiatives and projects that strengthen HR service delivery; and
- work collaboratively with the broader HR Centre Services leadership team to provide consistent portfolio leadership and oversight.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- proven experience leading multi-disciplinary or dispersed teams, including building capability and managing performance;
- extensive senior HR advisory experience, including supporting senior leaders on complex people matters;
- experience in an operational HR management role, or supporting frontline, public safety, 24/7 or highly unionised workforces;
- strong communication, relationship management and influencing skills;
- sound judgement, governance and accountability in complex operating environments;
- demonstrated ability to lead change, improve work practices and resolve business problems; and
- a positive, values-led leadership style that supports healthy, inclusive and highperforming teams.
Formal qualifications in human resource management would be regarded. Experience in HR business partnering and/or supporting frontline service delivery environments would also be highly regarded.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in strengthening HR service delivery across Queensland Corrective Services and supporting correctional centres to deliver safe, modern and responsive correctional services.
