We’re seeking a OO4 Ranger to join the K’gari Assets, Roads & Fireline Team, responsible for the operation of the Heavy Plant and Equipment fleet on K’gari (Fraser Island). You’ll collaborate with management units to deliver the annual works program aligned with current strategies. This diverse role includes field and office tasks such as procurement, data management, project coordination and shift reporting. Good 4WD skills are essential, as you’ll navigate remote, tide-dependent areas with limited resources. The role requires autonomy, problem-solving, and a solid understanding of internal systems, policies, and procedures.

Experience in staff supervision, leadership, workplace health and safety, natural resource management, is required with strong demonstrated skills in Heavy Plant operations and assets management are key requirements of this role. The successful applicant will require the demonstrated ability to develop and implement Assets Management programs.

This position is based on K'gari (Fraser Island). Rangers are required to work a 10/4 roster, and the remote position is required to live on island during their shift.
Departmental accommodation will be provided for the successful applicant, however travel to other locations on the island may be required from time to time. K'gari is a high visitation area where regular visitor compliance patrols are carried out and working on weekends and during school holidays are required.
