The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Upper Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Cancer) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Apply advanced knowledge about Upper Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary, and Hepatocellular Cancer
- Support patients and their families across the cancer continuum through care navigation
- Provide education and information about UGI/HPB/HCC cancer treatments
- Assess and screen for clinical and supportive care needs of patients undergoing treatment
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent Part Time (53.20 hrs p.f.)
- Base salary ranging from $57.48 - $61.55 per hour
About Us
The Specialist Cancer Nursing Team (Cancer, Blood Disorders & Respiratory, Gold Coast University Hospital) is a dedicated team of experienced cancer nurses who provide cancer care coordination, clinical leadership, and patient-centred management within an ambulatory care setting. The team supports patients and their families across the cancer continuum through care navigation, ensuring timely access to services and continuity of care.
The service comprises tumour stream-specific Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNCs), Nurse Navigators (NNs), Clinical Nurses (CNs), and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinators. In partnership with medical and multidisciplinary teams, the service delivers comprehensive supportive care, clinical guidance, patient education, and care coordination from diagnosis through treatment, surveillance, and end-of-life care.
