About us:

Rockhampton Hospital is the main referral hub for Central Queensland, serving a growing population of 250,000 people. Our Cardiology Department adopts a multidisciplinary model to provide integrated specialist care across the entire continuum. We are a dedicated team of over 3,700 staff members across the health service, committed to providing amazing care and fostering connected teams across our region.

About the role:

  • Provide high-quality Interventional and General Cardiology services across the CQHHS network.
  • Lead clinical sessions in the Coronary Care Unit, Outpatient Clinics, and the new Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory.
  • Contribute to the General and Interventional Cardiology on-call and weekend rosters.
  • Supervise and mentor registrars and junior medical staff to foster a high standard of clinical practice.
  • Participate in clinical research and quality assurance programs to improve service outcomes.

About you:

  • You hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and are eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • You are a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent Specialist Cardiologist.
  • You have completed Interventional Cardiology subspecialty training aligned with CSANZ guidelines.
  • You demonstrate clinical and academic research skills, with a focus on scientific analysis and peer review.
  • You are an effective communicator who acts with integrity, compassion, and resilience.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $550,085 p.a. (L27) is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $216,643 - $251,642 p.a. (L18 – L24)
  • A salary rate between $259,072 - $274,678 p.a. (L25 – L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
