About us:
The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers a large geographic area with a diverse and growing population. The Health Service provides a wide range of primary care, acute and specialist services.
The Orthopaedic Department provides elective and trauma services for the patients within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS), Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Services (TCHHS) as well as Papua New Guinea (PNG) nationals presenting to Torres health centres. The Orthopaedic Department is located in D Block, Cairns Hospital and is under the Directorate of Intensive Care, Women's and Peri-operative Services.

About your opportunity:
In this position you will…..
- Provide effective and efficient clinical care in the area of clinical specialty and work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure the maintenance of safe standards in patient care.
- Accountable for own decisions/actions, behaviours and standards including monitoring and evaluating activities delegated to others.
- Accurately conducts comprehensive and systematic assessments, analysing information and data and takes action based on this information communicating outcomes as the basis for practice.
