At the Public Sector Commission (PSC), our purpose is to build a capable, ethical and connected public sector that delivers for Queenslanders. As a Principal HR Consultant (AO7) in our HR Advisory Services team, you will play a meaningful role in shaping how performance, conduct and integrity are led across the sector. This is a role for someone who values integrity, collaboration and service. You will act as a trusted advisor to public sector agencies, supporting leaders and HR practitioners to manage complex and sensitive people matters with fairness, consistency and confidence. Through your expertise, you will help ensure decisions are grounded in legislation, policy and best practice, while aligning with the values of an ethical public sector.
Your work will extend beyond individual matters. You will partner with agencies to strengthen capability—coaching and influencing leaders and HR professionals to build confidence and maturity in people management practices. Through this, you will help create safer, more accountable and high-performing workplaces. A key part of the role is contributing to system-wide improvement. You will use data, insights and experience to identify emerging trends and risks, translating them into practical solutions, frameworks and guidance that drive better outcomes across the sector. You will also contribute to sector-wide networks and initiatives that foster shared learning and continuous improvement.
Within the team, you will lead by example—sharing your knowledge, mentoring others and contributing to a collaborative and inclusive culture. Your ability to build trust, work in partnership and support the growth of others will be central to your success.
We are seeking a credible and values-driven HR professional with significant experience in employee relations, including managing complex performance and conduct matters. You will bring strong judgement, the ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy, and confidence in advising and influencing at all levels.
This is an opportunity to work at a broader system level, where your impact will extend beyond a single organisation to benefit the Queensland public sector and the communities it serves. In return, you will be part of a purpose-driven organisation that values diversity, inclusion and flexibility, and supports you to do meaningful work that makes a difference.
Applications to remain current for 12 months.
