The Role
Operating from within Water Resource Management, South Region, you will be part of a team delivering compliance and stakeholder engagement related functions that support the sustainable management and use of the Region's water resources. Based in Bundaberg, this role contributes to regulatory compliance work across the South Region, predominantly within the Bundaberg and Wide Bay/Burnett area.

Key Accountabilities:
Undertake regulatory activities for water, associated works and riverine protection, including audits, inspections and investigations of complaints and alleged non-compliance.
Prepare reports, recommendations, briefs and correspondence on compliance matters under relevant legislation.
Enter, validate and use information in the Water Compliance Case Management System (CCMS) and other water databases.
Manage competing priorities and coordinate work to meet departmental priorities and performance targets.
Engage with staff, management, clients, the general public and government agencies on water compliance matters.
Work collaboratively with the Manager, Compliance and team members to deliver compliance functions in the regulated water community.
Represent the department in community forums and contribute to regional and team reporting.

About You:
You will bring an interest in natural resource management, compliance, regulation, investigations and field-based work.
You will be able to communicate clearly, build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, manage competing priorities and contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace.
A bachelor's degree in Agricultural, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or regulatory environment is mandatory.
You must hold a current C class driver licence and be willing to obtain a manual licence if required.
Authorised officer status under the Water Act 2000, or the ability to meet the requirements to become authorised, is required.
Travel away from the centre may be required, including outside normal office hours and overnight stays.
