As our Operations Manager Timber Operations, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of Sale Permit compliance and preparing sale proposals for designated forest products including Operational Plans.
The role will implement Forestry practices, policies and procedures for harvesting and marketing of designated forest products as well as assisting with administering the provisions of the Forestry Act 1959 and other relevant Acts and Regulations as they impact on Forestry activities.
You will be responsible for direction and monitoring the effective, cost efficient and environmentally sound implementation of operational programs and supervising field harvesting to ensure compliance with applicable codes, systems, procedures and other specified requirements.
The successful applicant will assist in managing risks associated with the harvesting and marketing of native timber and forest products, including forest protection and provide timely comment on policy and estate management issues as necessary.
You will represent Forestry in high level negotiations and discussions with industry, clients, lessees, land-owners, community groups and other stakeholders in relation to forest products sales, and strive for a consistently high standard of compliance to environmental, risk management, ethical conduct and workplace health and safety standards associated with native timber and forest activities.
The role will contribute to the monitoring and audit function for forest harvesting operations and provide analyses of spatial information to enhance operations and business objectives.
