The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Advisor (Work Health and Safety Education) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide advice on the identification of risks and opportunities, change management and mitigation strategies
- Guide development of health service training packages, assessment and recommendations
- Independently coordinate, develop and deliver specialised and mandatory training sessions to all occupational groups
- Ensure the competency of workplace trainers across the health service by providing assessment and training
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Driver Licence
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent part time (38 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $63.04 - $67.53 per hour

Our focus is to support workplace management and staff to meet legislative and policy duties by providing specialist advice in two primary areas, Injury Prevention and Injury Management.
The wellness team – Ergonomic Advisor (as part of the Work Health and Safety unit), has been created to monitor musculoskeletal injury trends, to develop solutions to support a reduction in injury, and to provide education and training relating to ergonomic risks.
