The Role

An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist (Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provision of care delivery in a variety of hospital and community settings including at external venues, consumers home address and at staff-based clinic
  • Provide comprehensive care to consumers with an acute mental health issue including mental health risk assessment and risk management plans
  • Utilise clinical skills commensurate to individual level of experience
  • Deliver occupational therapy/psychology/social work clinical services within the multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy
  • AHPRA Registration  
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $79 051- $116 189 per annum

Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Service (MIRT) is a highly responsive, assertive treatment and recovery orientated multidisciplinary service, aimed at improving the quality of life for consumers with complex and enduring mental illness/mental health needs requiring intensive rehabilitative intervention in the community. MIRT assists with the development or re-engagement with meaningful life roles for consumers, with an explicit belief that people can, and do recover from mental illness. This service provides a recovery-oriented approach that is person-centred, strengths based, collaborative and empowering. There is an emphasis on consumer choice, building resilience and enhancing opportunities for social inclusion.
