Gladstone Hospital is a vibrant 70-bed hospital where community, connection and great healthcare go hand in hand. From emergency care and surgery to maternity, paediatrics, mental health, imaging and allied health, our team does it all while supporting surrounding communities right out to Boyne Valley.
With a passionate team of 282 staff, there's never a dull moment. Every year we welcome around 500 babies into the world, perform more than 1,600 surgeries, and keep our busy wards, High Dependency Unit and outpatient clinics humming along. It's a fast-paced, supportive environment where teamwork is everything, no two days are the same, and the Gladstone spirit shines.
About the role:
- Support every corner of the hospital by stepping into different clinical units to keep things running smoothly and delivering warm, high‑quality service to patients, visitors, staff and the community.
- Keep the admin engine humming by managing bookings, data entry, correspondence, reports, reception, switchboard and all the essential tasks that keep the hospital organised.
- Adapt, collaborate and shine by embracing variety, building strong working relationships and bringing a positive, patient‑focused presence to every team.
- Communicate with confidence by providing friendly, clear communication, protecting confidentiality, using sound judgement and thriving in a role that blends autonomy with teamwork.
About you:
- While there are no mandatory qualifications, being physically active and comfortable with hands-on tasks, including lifting, bending, squatting, using ladders, and pushing large trolleys to transport charts across the hospital is vital for this position.
- You are highly competent with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and digital systems, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- A natural people person with excellent communication skills, tact, and the ability to build positive relationships with patients, families, and staff.
- An adaptable, reliable team player who thrives in a busy environment, solves problems quickly, manages priorities independently, and always maintains confidentiality.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $100,585 p.a.is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $39.98 - $44.46 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
