About the role
Provide advanced Clinical Nurse Consultant expertise within Consultation Liaison Psychiatry at RBWH, delivering specialist mental health assessment, consultation and support for medical and surgical inpatients requiring psychiatric care.
Key accountabilities
- Deliver advanced specialist mental health nursing assessment, consultation and clinical care for inpatient medical and surgical patients.
- Provide expert clinical judgement, complex problem solving and decision-making within a multidisciplinary liaison psychiatry service.
- Act as a clinical resource, mentor and advisor to nursing and medical teams regarding mental health care.
- Support service development, innovation and improvement in consultation liaison psychiatry practice and models of care.
- Contribute to clinical governance, policy interpretation, and alignment of practice with legislation, standards and Mental Health Act requirements.
