About the role

The Theatre Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of cleaning, patient assistance, and porterage services within the Operating Theatres, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Burns Unit at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH). The role ensures services are delivered to a high standard, supporting clinical functions and patient care.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Oversee and coordinate the cleaning and patient support activities across RBWH Operating Theatres, ICU and Burns Unit, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with Queensland Health guidelines.
  • Lead, support and mentor a large workforce across multiple classifications, including performance management, recognition, and capability building.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver onboarding and refresher training for Theatre Support Officers and new trainees, including patient handling, infection control, cleaning standards, and fire safety.
