What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Ability to work well as both a leader and a member of a multi-disciplinary team and in collaboration with other internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to coordinate and provide complex care of individuals with sexually transmissible infections, blood borne viruses and reproductive needs.
- Well-developed skills in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating sexual health programs utilising a range of population level approaches and initiating, coordinating and/or contributing to sexual health research.
- Demonstrated understanding of culture and communication protocols, the needs and health outcomes relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and other Culturally and Linguistically Diverse populations – both staff and health consumers.
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate equitable and effective sexual health, reproductive health & blood born virus programs.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a specialist Sexual Health Medicine Physician (FAChSHM) or General Practitioner (FRACGP/FACRRM). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
