Department of Nutrition and Dietetics

Department staff are responsible for providing high quality services across the continuum of care to client groups both within Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) and for patients from the Torres and Cape catchment areas who receive care at Cairns Hospital. About your role:

  • Manage caseload effectively using high level time management and prioritisation skills with the maintenance of accurate patient records and recording of departmental statistics.
  • Provide clinical education and supervision to students, junior dietitians, and support staff.
  • Manage clinical and non-clinical tasks efficiently and ensure responsible use of nutrition resources.
  • Communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, patients, families, and stakeholders.
