An exciting opportunity exists for skilled and organised Teacher Aides to join us at Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre (BYETC). BYETC is a unique Department of Education school located within the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre at Wacol.
We have multiple positions available and are seeking enthusiastic Teacher Aides who can provide general classroom support across a range of learning areas, while also welcoming applicants with experience or interest in supporting Health and Physical Education (HPE).

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.92FTE), 70 hours per fortnight.

The Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre (BYETC) is a unique Department of Education school located within the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre in Wacol.
Supporting young people aged 10-18, BYETC plays a vital role in empowering students to build knowledge, develop practical skills, and strengthen the values needed for positive decision-making and future success.
At BYETC, education is more than a classroom experience—it's a pathway to opportunity.
Our dedicated team works closely with students to foster confidence, resilience, and a sense of purpose, helping them make constructive choices both during and beyond their time in detention.
Operating 48 weeks per year, BYETC offers a structured yet rewarding teaching environment. Teacher Aides benefit from the same leave entitlements as those in mainstream schools, with scheduled breaks often occurring outside standard school holiday periods.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:
- Assisting teachers and students with sporting activities and with school excursions.
- Assisting with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources.
- Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
- Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing student's development.
