About the Role:
As a Principal Planning Officer, you will play a pivotal role, working closely with schools, regional infrastructure advisors and central office teams to guide infrastructure projects through planning, ensuring they achieve scope, budget and functional requirements. This role operates within the Growth and Renewals stream of the Project Planning team.
Key responsibility include, though are not limited to:
- Driving the development and delivery of infrastructure planning initiatives, including scoping documentation, facilities briefs and concept design;
- Providing strategic and high-level program support for ongoing and future projects
- Engaging with stakeholders to develop innovative and fit-for-purpose infrastructure solutions;
- Delivery of accurate and timely reporting, detailed presentations, and briefing materials for team leaders, Governance Boards and Committees, and stakeholders to support evidence-based decision making;
- Collaborating to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in infrastructure planning processes;
- Leading and inspiring innovative approaches to infrastructure planning that addressed the evolving needs of Queensland education system;
- Alignment with governance processes and departmental policies while identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies, where required; and
- Adaptation to evolving priorities and duties consistent with the role's responsibilities.
You will report to the Manager, Growth and Renewals, Project Planning, within a supportive environment that values teamwork, innovation and adaptability.
About You:
To succeed in this role, it would be highly desirable to possess the following knowledge, skills, experience and personal attributes:
- Proven experience and knowledge in delivering relevant infrastructure solutions in educational settings or similar environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex planning challenges.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- A commitment to fostering positive change and continuous improvement to support best practice project planning and delivery.
- A mandatory requirement for this role; You will also hold a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
