The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.
Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.
About the Role
Play a critical role in helping senior leaders understand what is happening across a complex, integrated infrastructure program, why it matters, and what decisions or actions may be required at key points in the program lifecycle.
This role draws on deep delivery and program experience to interpret inputs from across delivery teams, Program Controls and assurance functions, identify what is material, and shape clear, credible narratives and insights used in executive and governance forums.
The role is closely connected to regular executive and governance reporting cycles, requiring active forward planning, judgement about timing, and ensuring issues and decisions flow coherently from one forum to the next. This includes anticipating upcoming reviews and decisions, ensuring material issues are surfaced early, and that outcomes and directions agreed through governance forums are accurately reflected in subsequent reporting.
This role suits someone who has worked inside complex project or program environments and now wants to apply that experience at an enterprise level. Influence is exercised through judgement, perspective and clarity, rather than through direct line authority or delivery ownership.
This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until August 2028 with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape executive‑ready reporting narratives and recommendations that translate complex program performance into clear decision support
- Translate program performance into insights that clearly link delivery status to risk, dependencies, commercial impacts and decision consequences.
- Apply judgement to identify material issues, prioritise competing inputs and determine appropriate escalation pathways
- Work closely with delivery teams, program controls and senior stakeholders to identify, test and refine reporting messages
- Challenge inputs constructively to improve clarity, coherence and usefulness of reporting
- Plan, manage and adapt integrated reporting and governance cadence so reporting aligns with decision making timelines
- Ensure outcomes from governance forums are accurately reflected and tracked through subsequent reporting
- Oversee the overall quality and presentation of reporting products, including the effective use of visuals and structure
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting and governance processes to improve clarity, timeliness and reduce rework
About You:
- Experience working in complex project or program environments, with a strong understanding of how delivery issues, risks and dependencies play out in practice
- Strong ability to synthesise complex information and translate delivery reality into clear narratives, insights and advice for senior decision‑making
- Sound judgement and the ability to make sense of complex or competing inputs in senior reporting or decision‑support contexts
- Clear, confident communicator with the ability to engage and collaborate with senior stakeholders, delivery teams, project controls and other functions.
- Organised and adaptable, with the ability to operate within regular executive and governance reporting cycles without losing attention to quality
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience
