Cairns School of Distance Education is committed to excellence in education for all students. Our vision is to ensure that we provide individualised support to students in a flexible and dynamic way. The school's culture is characterised by the provision of individualised curriculum and high levels of educational support, achieved through the establishing of close professional working relationships with students and home tutors.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

• Lead the department in developing and implementing a shared educational vision focused on high-quality learning outcomes and success for all students.
• Promote inclusive and socially just practices while fostering high expectations for student achievement, staff performance, and positive school culture.
• Build strong partnerships with students, parents, community organisations, and government agencies to support educational opportunities and engagement.
• Demonstrate strategic, future-focused leadership through continuous professional learning, innovation, and improvement initiatives.
• Manage departmental resources effectively, including staff, curriculum, facilities, and budgets, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and education policies.
