About your role
As a Purchasing Officer, you will work collaboratively within a dedicated Procurement & Supply team to support the effective delivery of transactional purchasing services across Metro South Health.
In this role, you will:
- Support purchasing, inventory management and invoice verification activities
- Assist with receipt reconciliation and management of back-order reporting
- Provide contract management and transactional procurement support
- Respond to customer, vendor and accounts payable enquiries
- Build strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Deliver training and ongoing support to customers where required
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative and customer-focused team environment
- Ensure compliance with service quality, workplace health and safety standards
About you
You are a proactive and organised professional with strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service. You thrive in a team environment and can effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
You will demonstrate:
- Experience using S/4HANA or a similar procurement/ERP system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar software
- A strong understanding of Purchase to Pay processes and accountabilities
- Excellent communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to problem solve and respond to complex enquiries
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support team members
- A commitment to respectful, inclusive and professional workplace practices
