Clinical Information Services is responsible for the management of clinical information across Townsville Hospital and Health Service. Areas of responsibility include Clinical Coding, Medical Records, Release of Information, Data Quality, 7 Day Service, Information Management and Information Privacy.

- Salary range: $93,556 to $103,074 p.a. (AO4)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Clinical Coder to join the Clinical Coding team at Townsville Hospital and Health Service. The purpose of this role will be to provide timely and accurate coding of inpatient episodes of care. This involves accurate abstraction of relevant information from the integrated electronic medical record (ieMR) and other associated clinical information systems, and assignment of accurate codes in accordance with the Australian Coding Standards.
This is a permanent full-time role.
Requirements:
- Two years clinical coding experience.
- Highly desirable successful completion of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) Diploma of Clinical Coding (or equivalent) OR successful completion of Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent).
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
