The Healthcare Purchasing and System Performance Division is seeking a dedicated Senior Project Officer to join the team. The role supports the planning, development and management of innovative health services procurement and funding arrangements that align with and support Queensland Health programs and objectives.
What you'll do
As a Senior Project Officer, you will undertake contemporary human services procurement and funding activities in line with the Queensland Procurement Policy and Financial Accountability Act, supporting the delivery of community‑based health services across Queensland. You will build, monitor and manage service agreements, contribute to market analysis and funding strategies, and work closely with NGOs, Hospital and Health Services and key stakeholders to maximise contracted outcomes. The role also involves supporting the management of service delivery performance using evidence‑ and risk‑based approaches, contributing to multiple projects in a complex environment, and preparing high‑quality briefings, reports and executive correspondence while promoting continuous improvement, ethical behaviour and quality workforce practices.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- Demonstrated experience in contemporary public sector social services investment, including procurement, contract management and service agreement development for community‑based health services.
- Strong capability in monitoring, evaluating and improving service agreement performance through analysis of financial and performance data, using evidence to support provider feedback and outcomes.
- High‑level communication, consultation and negotiation skills, with the ability to research, analyse and clearly convey complex information to internal teams and external partners.
- Sound project management capability and sector knowledge (or ability to rapidly acquire it) across health services, data analysis, health finance and continuous improvement to support strong business outcomes.
