What your day could look like
As a Roster Support Officer, you'll play a critical role in helping our health service run smoothly by ensuring rosters support safe staffing, staff wellbeing and continuity of care. From coordinating complex workforce requirements to supporting managers and clinicians with confidence, your work helps teams focus on what matters most—patients and community.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Coordinating and maintaining accurate rosters that meet service needs and compliance requirements
- Supporting managers and staff with roster advice, adjustments and problem‑solving
- Monitoring leave, vacancies and staffing pressures to enable proactive workforce planning
- Contributing ideas that improve processes, accuracy and team connection
Let's talk about you!
You're someone who brings both precision and empathy to your work. Calm under pressure, you enjoy solving problems, supporting others and keeping things running behind the scenes. You take pride in enabling teams to do their best work and feel valued doing it. Guided by compassion, integrity and dignity, you know your work makes a real difference—even when it's not always visible.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Experience in rostering, scheduling or workforce coordination in a complex environment
- Strong administrative skills with confidence using digital systems and data
- Clear communication and a collaborative, service‑focused mindset
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in healthcare or large, unionised organisations and/or exposure to award interpretation and compliance.
Most importantly, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health—compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage—helping us support our people so they can care for our community.
This role enables fair, safe and sustainable staffing—strengthening care today and into the future.
