The Office of Pat Weir MP, Member for Condamine, is seeking a professional and reliable Assistant Electorate Officer to join the team in Oakey. This part-time job-share position (2 days per week) offers a great opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day operations of a busy electorate office.

In this varied role, you will provide confidential administrative and secretarial support while liaising with constituents and assisting with correspondence and general office activities. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and has an interest in rural and regional communities.

Key Objectives

  • Provide confidential administrative and secretarial support
  • Deliver responsive and professional service to constituents
  • Support efficient day-to-day operation of the electorate office

Your Role

  • Prepare correspondence and general documentation
  • Liaise with constituents and respond to enquiries
  • Provide confidential administrative support to the office
  • Assist with daily office operations and general tasks
  • Use Microsoft Office, social media, and online tools effectively

What We're Looking For

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a small team
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media, and internet use
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new information
  • Understanding of local issues affecting the electorate
  • Experience in small business or rural/regional settings (advantageous)
