At Mossman Multipurpose Health Service, you'll be part of a dedicated team that serves a diverse region extending from Bloomfield River in the north to Ellis Beach in the south. The catchment area includes beautiful townships like Port Douglas, Cooya Beach, Wonga Beach, Daintree, Oak Beach, and Cow Bay.
The local custodians of this land are the Kuku Yalanji people, and First Nations communities make up 9% of the population, offering a unique opportunity to work in a culturally rich and inclusive environment. As a member of our Allied Health team, you will provide a wide range of services across the acute inpatient unit, 24-hour emergency department, community health and palliative services, residential aged care, and outreach programs. The role includes working in both inpatient and outpatient settings and outreach to remote communities, with telehealth options where applicable.
About your role:
- Utilise high level professional and clinical knowledge, expertise, clinical decision making, organisational and risk management skills to enhance safe and efficient service delivery on a daily basis, across the continuum of care.
- Provide high level evidence based Occupational Therapy clinical advice to multidisciplinary and Occupational Therapy teams to ensure services are patient centred, integrated and efficient.
- Initiate, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of Occupational Therapy services including the review of clinical practices, workplace procedures and protocols in line with directions of the facility.
- Provide direct clinical supervision, training and guidance to the Allied Health Assistant workforce, and provide Clinical education as needed to undergraduate Occupational Therapy students.
