The Healthcare Improvement Unit within Clinical Excellence Queensland are searching for a dedicated Manager to join the team. The Manager is to lead and manage teams to support the development, coordination and implementation of statewide initiatives focused on improving statewide equity and quality of healthcare services, initiatives and healthcare outcomes.
What you'll do
As the Manager, you will lead and influence clinicians and key stakeholders across Queensland to drive improvements in healthcare quality and outcomes. You will manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver complex projects and initiatives using healthcare improvement frameworks, including project management, quality improvement, change management and improvement science methodologies. The role involves overseeing program and operational delivery across multiple priorities, identifying and supporting the statewide scale and spread of best‑practice models of care, and providing timely, high‑level advice, briefings and reports to Clinical Excellence Queensland and senior executives. You will build and maintain strong relationships across the health sector, act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, and demonstrate effective leadership, communication and resource management to support the strategic priorities of the Healthcare Improvement Unit.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- Highly developed communication, negotiation and people management skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders at all levels and manage staff within a complex healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing high‑level briefings, reports, submissions and correspondence for executive and ministerial audiences.
- Proven experience leading and delivering complex, statewide healthcare initiatives in dynamic operating environments using quality improvement and redesign methodologies, within time and budget constraints.
- Strong strategic, analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to provide expert advice, lead high‑performing teams and work collaboratively to deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
