Your new role:
Join Metro South Health's Minor Injury and Illness Clinic (MIIC) and play a key role in delivering advanced, patient-centred urgent care within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. You will:
- Provide advanced clinical assessment, care planning and coordination for patients presenting with minor injuries and acute illnesses.
- Deliver expert nursing care autonomously while supporting and mentoring nursing and multidisciplinary team members.
- Contribute to clinical leadership, education, quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice within the service.
- Support efficient patient flow and continuity of care in partnership with Redland Hospital and local primary healthcare providers.
About you:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced urgent care environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient outcomes. You have:
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in urgent care, minor injuries and illness nursing practice.
- Strong clinical decision-making, problem-solving and triage skills, including knowledge of the Australian Triage Scale (ATS).
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- A commitment to professional development, evidence-based practice, quality improvement and person-centred care.

Unit Profile
The Minor Injury and Illness Clinic (MIIC) is located within Redland Satellite Health Centre and will provide episodic unscheduled care to patients, adults and paediatrics, with acute illnesses and minor injuries, which are not anticipated to be life-threatening in nature. There is a multi-disciplinary team with patient care being delivered by medical, nursing and allied health clinicians. The MIIC does not provide complex emergency care and is an acute primary care service which works in partnership with local general practice providers to ensure continuity of care for the patient. The MIIC will work closely with Redland Hospital to ensure effective patient flow between facilities occurs in a timely manner.
