Senior Employee Engagement Officer - Are you a master of words?
Are you ready to use your exceptional writing and storytelling skills to transform workplace culture? At the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI), we're on a mission to reshape the employee experience. We're seeking a talented internal communications specialist to design and deliver innovative strategies that inspire, engage, and connect our workforce.
As a Senior Employee Engagement Officer, you'll take the lead in crafting clear, engaging, and impactful communication materials that resonate with our diverse employees. You'll be a key player in fostering a workplace culture that thrives on collaboration, connection, and innovation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Write engaging newsletters, announcements, and campaigns that inform and inspire employees.
- Design and implement innovative internal communication plans to keep employees connected and aligned with DETSI's strategic plan.
- Use storytelling to highlight achievements, share updates, and foster a sense of belonging across the department.
- Build strong relationships with teams and leaders to understand their needs and deliver tailored communication solutions.
- Develop communication plans that help employees navigate organisational changes with clarity and confidence
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Demonstrated proven ability to develop and implement innovative internal communications plans, including strategic storytelling, that lead to an uplift in staff engagement.
- Understanding of contemporary internal communications trends and continual drive to innovate and improve.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as negotiation skills, including the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple timeframes and deadlines, prioritising effort to ensure internal communication activities are delivered to an exceptional level in a timely fashion.
