Your new role:

As a Clinical Midwife within the Maternity Outpatients Department, you will provide advanced clinical care, leadership and coordination to support safe, high-quality outcomes for women, babies and families by:

  • Delivering evidence-based antenatal midwifery care within a women-centred model of practice
  • Providing advanced clinical assessment, care planning and problem-solving in complex maternity presentations
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective care delivery
  • Supporting continuity of care and empowering women to make informed decisions throughout their pregnancy journey
  • Leading and contributing to quality improvement, education, research and clinical governance activities
  • Mentoring, guiding and supporting midwives, students and healthcare team members
  • Promoting culturally safe, inclusive and compassionate maternity care for diverse communities

About you:

You are a compassionate and experienced midwife who is passionate about delivering exceptional maternity care and supporting positive outcomes for women and families with:

  • Registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in antenatal midwifery care
  • Strong clinical decision-making, communication and problem-solving skills
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice, education and continuous professional development
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience supporting quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities
  • A strong commitment to culturally safe, respectful and inclusive healthcare practices
  • Well-developed computer literacy and documentation skills

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
