About us:

Mount Morgan Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) is a 20-bed facility that has been a cornerstone of the community since 2012. We offer a diverse range of services, including emergency, acute inpatient care, rehabilitation, and residential aged care. Located just 39km from Rockhampton, our facility combines historic charm with modern care initiatives like tele-pharmacy support. We are a team driven by the goal of making Central Queenslanders amongst the healthiest in the world through amazing care and community partnerships.

About the role:

  • Provide safe, high-quality emergency and inpatient medical services for the Mount Morgan community.
  • Lead clinical services in accordance with credentials and the clinical service capability framework.
  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call roster to ensure constant medical service availability.
  • Manage regular public outpatient clinics and maintain high standards of clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites within Central Queensland.
  • Develop programs to address service gaps and target high-risk groups within the community.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement and peer review to ensure contemporary rural practice.

About you:

  • You hold an MBBS or equivalent and are eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • You ideally possess a Fellowship of ACRRM or RACGP and have advanced skills in Emergency Medicine.
  • You demonstrate extensive knowledge and skills across primary care, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and mental health.
  • You have a sound understanding of community and public health, including Aboriginal Health and health education.
  • You bring high-level interpersonal skills for effective communication with community groups and health professionals.
  • You are committed to workplace safety, quality improvement, and the values of the Queensland Public Service.
  • You possess the ability to provide an effective range of general practice services, including emergency childbirth situations.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $338,925 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $187,569 - $205,190 p.a. (MSR1-1 – MSR1-4)
  • A salary rate between $211,057 - $216,643 p.a. (MSR2-1 – MSR2-2)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

Additional Benefits:

  • Professional Development Leave and Allowances ($22,145 p.a. / 3.6 Weeks)

  • Motor Vehicle Allowance
  • Over-time and on-call allowances
  • Inaccessibility Incentive Allowance of $13,800
    • 100% paid after twelve months completion period
    • 25% paid in three monthly instalments thereafter

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.
