The Principal Stakeholder Engagement Officer is responsible for providing high level strategic stakeholder engagement advice to assist in the delivery of activities that align with departmental priorities.

The role will support the development and delivery of stakeholder engagement strategies, activities, events and consultations anywhere in the State with a focus on building staff capacity to deliver best practice engagement approaches.

These newly created roles are offered as maternity leave backfill positions, providing a great opportunity for the successful applicants to help our team continue to deliver this important work.

Your opportunity:
The position sits within the Stakeholder and Community Engagement team, within the Communications and Public Engagement branch of the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI).

The primary function is to provide high level strategic stakeholder engagement advice to assist in the delivery of a broad range of departmental priorities and other key objectives.

You will provide direction and guidance to internal teams to coordinate and enhance strategic stakeholder engagement activities aligned to departmental priorities including supporting the delivery of consultations, roundtables and forums.

Build strong collaborations with stakeholders, provide strategic advice to senior leaders and drive measurable, audience-focused outcomes in a positive, high performing environment.

Support a programme of internal engagement activities to maintain a high level of awareness and collaboration of engagement priorities and insights sharing across teams.

Support the rollout of an agency wide stakeholder database to track engagement performance, collect stakeholder insights and share sentiment to help guide strategic engagement decisions.

Monitor changes in stakeholder attitudes, analyse engagement data and contribute to development of internal sentiment reports.

Communicate critical information about departmental priorities to our stakeholders in a clear and consistent manner and support the development of briefs for senior executives.
