About the Role 

As a senior member of the Data and Analytics team, you will lead the design, delivery, and governance of QLeave's data platforms. 

Working closely with the Manager, you will help drive data engineering capability and governance, while leading and mentoring a small team of Data Engineers.

Your Responsibilities 

In this role, you will: 

  • Provide expert technical leadership in the design, development, optimisation and governance of complex data engineering solutions that enable reliable, scalable and secure data access across the organisation. 
  • Lead the architecture and engineering of enterprise level data pipelines, data Lakehouse components and data integration frameworks, ensuring they reflect best practice, modern engineering patterns and organisational strategy. 
  • Analyse and solve complex data engineering challenges, providing innovative, fit for purpose solutions that improve data reliability, performance, efficiency and quality. 
  • Oversee and assure engineering quality, including code reviews, architectural alignment, testing strategies, operational readiness assessments and continuous improvement of engineering standards. 
  • Provide technical mentoring, coaching and guidance to Data Engineers and related roles, building capability, uplifting engineering maturity and supporting consistent adoption of best practice.

What We're Looking For

  • Provide authoritative guidance in data engineering activities.

  • Demonstrate high level analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Show strong proficiency in core technologies, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure.  
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrate experience delivering engineering work in complex environments.

While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, practical experience in a cloud-based data engineering or qualifications in Information Technology or Mathematics will be favourably regarded.
