In the role of Project Support Officer (Finance), some of your responsibilities will include:
• Where required, administer, maintain and ensure the delivery of a range of support activities associated with:
o Interpret and apply financial policies and procedures for example, chart of accounts, financial planning, etc.
o Provide basic financial advice for example, accounts payable, entertainment expenses and so on.
o Prepare financial documents, for example, accruals and general journals.
o Assist in the development of local work practices to meet district office needs and to ensure compliance requirements are met.
• Ensure operational practices and standards of service and performance comply with departmental and regional policies, legislation (incl. WH&S), and governance obligations.
• Provide effective performance management and assistance for project administration staff to ensure tasks are completed within specified deadlines.
• Assist with employee timesheet queries, amendments as required, and advising on accurate time recording and dissections.
Desirable requirements for the role include:
• While qualifications are not mandatory, sound knowledge of financial acts and regulations would be beneficial.
• Prior knowledge and experience in Financial Systems such as SAP or the ability to learn quickly.
• Highly proficient in using the current Microsoft Office Suite.
• Current holder of Class C driver licence
