As a Project Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP) by providing high-level administrative and project support to the Innovation team. You will assist in the successful delivery of pilot projects, coordinate workshops and ensure effective communication with stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include maintaining project documentation, supporting risk management activities and proactively resolving challenges to achieve program goals. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to protecting Queensland's communities, environment and industries from the threat of fire ants.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-level administrative and project support, including compiling program information, maintaining project files and preparing management reports.
Coordinate logistics for workshops, prepare materials, and record key discussion points and outcomes to support the facilitation of problem definition workshops.
Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, managing expectations and fostering collaboration through feedback and lessons learned.
Support risk and issue identification, assessment and mitigation by documenting, reviewing and escalating risks and issues as appropriate.
Ensure the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools in line with departmental requirements to support the successful delivery of pilot projects.
Provide secretariat services to project boards and committees, including preparing agendas, recording minutes and following up on action items.
Demonstrate strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to coordinate multiple tasks within agreed priorities, timeframes and accountabilities.
Prepare for workshops by managing all associated administrative functions, including logistics, scheduling and resource preparation.
Proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure program goals and objectives are met.

Experience in project support, including the use of project management tools and methodologies.

Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address challenges effectively.
A proactive approach to resolving issues and achieving program objectives.
