Your new role:
As a Private Practice Billing and Audit Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely billing and compliance within a complex healthcare environment, supporting both operational efficiency and revenue optimisation. You will:
- Manage end-to-end billing processes, including raising, issuing, and following up on accounts for private inpatient services
- Liaise with Health Funds and Medicare to resolve billing discrepancies, rejections, and compliance matters
- Maintain and update patient and billing data across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legislative requirements
- Provide high-quality administrative support, including data extraction, reporting, records management, and responding to enquiries
About you:
You are a highly organised and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a structured environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work. You have:
- Strong administrative and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated (or the ability to quickly acquire) knowledge of medical billing processes, Medicare Benefits Schedule, and healthcare systems
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work autonomously, solve problems, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
