We want you to lead a team that is making a difference by ensuring development proposals are facilitated where needed and when it is needed, while ensuring the State's interests are integrated. Your team celebrates an enviable workplace culture that drives alignment of economic, land use and infrastructure planning through principles based assessment pathways also subject to a high level of scrutiny necessitating sound judgement and accountability. Planning Services is responsible for integrating and balancing interests across multiple government agencies who input to planning. Planning Services is also direct customer-facing with development applicants and local government planning officers and the wider community who engage on development applications and planning schemes.
We're looking for the best-suited applicant for the role. We focus on your strengths by assessing a combination of your competencies, knowledge-based skills and behaviours.
For this role we are looking for strengths in:

• Understands organisational objectives and links between the business unit, organisation and the whole of government agenda. Considers the ramifications of a wide range of issues, anticipates priorities, and develops long-term plans for own work area.
• Provides recommendations for continuous improvement to ensure the state's planning framework delivers desired outcomes and is transparent and accountable.
• Develops and maintains strong and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the relevance and quality of information provided and to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
• Contributes to the strategic objectives and priorities of Planning Group and provides strategic advice and regional intelligence to the division and senior executives of the department.
• Creates a safe workplace environment that supports wellbeing and values diversity and inclusion and enables collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation.
