Principal Program Officer Governance and Improvement

As the Principal Program Officer in the Governance and Improvement team (Corporate Services), you will be a forward-thinker with strong analytical skills.
You will have the ability to lead a small team and manage complex tasks independently, while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Excellent communication, integrity, confidentiality and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to this role.
You will lead the operational delivery of key governance functions (audit, risk, cyber security, privacy and legislative compliance), provide expert advice and manage governance projects.

• Lead the Governance and Improvement team, identify opportunities for process improvements and lead the implementation of best practices.
• Coordinate the Cabinet Legislation and Liaison Officer functions for the PSC, ensuring adherence to security protocols.
• Coordinate agency reporting processes for the PSC, including Estimates, SDS and the Annual Report.
• Support the Executive Leadership Advisory Group by preparing high-quality briefing notes and quarterly operational reports for the whole of PSC.
• Coordinate logistics for internal/external audits, prepare audit reports and management responses, and track recommendations to ensure compliance.
• Provide strategic risk management oversight by coordinating quarterly risk register reviews, maintaining the suite of risk policy documents, preparing papers for the Audit and Risk Management Committee, and leading integrity and ethics initiatives.
• Enhance and oversee cyber security, privacy and business continuity frameworks, including coordinating cyber exercises, data breach responses.
