As the full-time temporary Teacher SPARQ-ed, you will focus on curriculum implementation; participating in delivering the vision of the facility, developing quality teaching and learning and nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

SPARQ-ed; (Students Performing Advanced Research Queensland) is a unique educational facility established as collaboration between Translational Research Institute and Queensland's Department of Education.
As a SPARQ-ed teacher you play a vital role in shaping the way SPARQ-ed delivers education services to ensure students have the skills, knowledge and creativity to succeed in the global economy.
As a SPARQ-ed teacher, you will model specialist curriculum delivery within the class and labs at schools, with the class teacher observing.
Your application should specifically address each selection criterion listed below. The ideal applicant will be someone who has:
- Experience in senior sciences with expertise in biology and chemistry, with a biomedical focus.
- Demonstrated teaching competence and capacity to deliver innovative programs outreach programs of SPARQ-ed leading to the achievement of quality learning outcomes for all learners (secondary students and teachers).
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships within and beyond the SPARQ-ed community.
- Capacity to use analytical skills to contribute to educational outcomes at the program level aligned to the Department's Education Strategy and strategic priorities, and the SPARQ-ed vision.
- Capacity to manage effectively human, financial and physical resources to deliver high quality organisational outcomes.
- Demonstrated support for and the capacity to develop and maintain an organisational culture based on ethical professional and personal behaviours and corporate values.
- Current full registration, or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
The position reports to the HOD, SPARQ-ed.
*Please note this position requires flexible work arrangements (ie. working some evenings and school holidays) which will be managed according to the Time off in lieu (TOIL) arrangements under the Department's related policies, procedures and guidelines.
