About the role
The Anaesthetic Healthcare Practitioner(Technician)- Clinical Lead (Equipment) role compromises of both clinical and non-clinical (consumebles and equipment) responsibilities and provides independent, client-focussed clinical and technical services within an evidence-based quality and multidisciplinary health care environment with minimum supervision.
The role exercises independent professional judgment within defined scope and established procedures, standards and guidelines. Contributes to validation or modification of current procedures, standards, guidelines and development of policy.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Assemble, testing and preparation of equipment and supplies required for the delivery of anaesthetic support for the assigned areas.
- Liaision with anaesthetist and other multidisciplinary teams on the plan when allocated to theatres/procedural areas.
- Assist with transportation and positioning of patient dependant on the intended procedure.
- Perform various and routine tests (Activated Clotting Time Test, Arterial Blood Gas, Rotem, Multiplate etc) as required.
- Provide education and training to less experienced Anaesthetic Healthcare Practitioners(Technician) in collaboration with the Anaesthetic Healthcare Practitioner(Technician) Educator.
- Participate in and acticely contribute to educational activities held within the anaesthetic department.
- Complying with sound HR practice and principals including Work Health and Safety (WH&S), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and anti-discrimination legislation.
