Who We Are:

Welcome to Dysart State School, situated in the coal fields of the Central Highlands. Our Western location in the Queensland tropics is a wonderful blend of country life with regional support services.

Our community partnerships with the Isaac Council, BHP Billiton and Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) mining company provide additional learning opportunities for our students and staff.

Our staff have a great sense of adventure and team spirit and enjoy living and teaching in a rural setting, supporting our students to be 'Dysart Dynamos' - safe, friendly, learners - across our school environment.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:

Local management of teacher housing is conducted through a Local Accommodation Committee (LAC), chaired by the Principal, Local Accommodation Officer (LAO).

LACAA supports the LAO in managing teacher housing in the local area.  The focus is on providing quality housing to teachers to support their choice to work in rural and remote Queensland.

Experience with RTA, rentals or property management would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. HR and departmental staff, school staff, contractors); provide information and advice in line with school policies and/or Principal directives.
  • Apply day to day independence in determining work schedules and sequences.
  • Assist the Principal/Executive Principal/Business Manager in identifying workforce needs including maintaining accurate records, tracking staff data, monitoring staff replacement and ensuring all relevant compliance training is valid and current.

Please view the role description for a full list of responsibilities.

Submit Your Application:

  • Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history)
  • Attach a 1-page written statement about how your achievements and capabilities meet the requirements of the role.

We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.

Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.
