Housing Development's contribution is to deliver innovation and accountable program development and project management supporting the Department's investment in housing supply. We work collaboratively with the community housing sector and other not-for-profit, for-profit and government partners to achieve a more effective and integrated service system and improved long-term outcomes for clients requiring housing and homelessness assistance.
You will support a diverse team to effectively manage and deliver capital projects and support the daily operational activities to achieve results.
What you will be doing:
- Participate in Housing Development projects and group activities, including the planning of activities and evaluation of proposals to deliver social and affordable housing through the Queensland Housing Investment Pipeline.
- Work collaboratively with a hybrid workforce of employees, contractors, and technical advisors and prepare reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence in line with department guidelines.
- Participate in the preparation and provision of high level and expert commercial, financial and policy advice to Government and stakeholder agencies related to delivery of social and affordable housing including to support Queensland's delivery commitments.
- Undertake rigorous analysis of risks and options available to government in relation to new capital supply projects.
- Manage contracts and other funding agreements between the State and not for profit organisations and their partners and provide proactive, structured and effective contracting solutions to support delivery.
- Effectively engage, liaise and establish a network of internal and external partners to ensure that our built products and services meet the needs of the community at a place-based level.
- Apply advanced project management skills to support the capital works program of the team; this includes assisting with the implementation of proven project management methodologies.
- Contribute to effective strategic and operational management of capital projects delivered by the department or by third parties.
- Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
Mandatory Requirement
There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant financial and commercial qualifications and experience in project and/or transaction management would be highly regarded.
