About the opportunity
Provide expert clinical leadership and coordination to scope, develop, implement, embed and continuously improve Day Surgery by Default (DSbD) and Criteria Led Discharge (CLD) models of care across Surgical Services as part of the SAFEST SurgiFLOW program. The Allied Health - Advanced – CLD Coordinator leads data informed clinical redesign, stakeholder engagement and change management processes to support improved patient outcomes, patient experience, surgical flow and health system performance. The role supports implementation across planned and unplanned surgical pathways, ensuring DSbD and CLD principles are applied consistently to appropriate procedures and patient cohorts. The role may be required to work across multiple facilities within the Hospital and Health Service (HHS), supporting coordinated implementation of DSbD and CLD pathways across surgical services.
The role works with: Surgical governance groups, Patient Safety, Quality Improvement / Clinical Redesign team, Patient Experience Team, Patient Flow Unit, Theatre/ORMIS teams, Preadmission Clinic, Day Surgery Unit, Surgical wards, Same Day Unit, Recovery/Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, Allied Health, Community, Bed Management, Discharge Coordinators, Booking & Scheduling, Post-Operative Discharge Support Service (PODSS), National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) team, Healthcare Improvement Unit (HIU) program leads.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Clinical/Technical
- Advanced level clinical expertise and high-level capability in the application of high quality, patient centred peri-operative healthcare services.
- Collaboration, Teamwork & Consumer Engagement
- Advanced level communication skills and organisational ability implementing innovative or alternative models.
- Expertise in building productive working relationships, partnerships and teamwork, crucial networks and key internal and external stakeholders to align teams with a desired outcome.
- Leadership
- Leadership expertise in the development of high-level innovative clinical service improvement and research initiatives, including clinical protocol development.
- Service Improvements
- Skills to develop, implement and evaluate clinical practices, professional support structures and clinical procedures.
- Proven project management experience, including the ability to define project tasks, set priorities and coordinate activities effectively to meet competing deadlines.

- Salary range: $5557.50 - $5798.90 p.f. (HP5)
