The Department of Education, Procurement and Facilities Services is seeking a Senior Procurement Advisor to provide expert advice, training and capability uplift initiatives that strengthen procurement compliance
and purchasing practices across the department.
In this role you will work closely with schools, regional offices and central teams to build procurement capability, support policy implementation and contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes.

About the Role:
As the Senior Procurement Advisor, Regional Support, you will provide procurement advice, training and support services to schools and regional offices to strengthen purchasing capability and policy compliance across the department.
Working within the Procurement and Facilities Services Branch, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver procurement capability initiatives, improve purchasing practices, and support the effective implementation of procurement policies and procedures.
This role reports to the Manager, Procurement Compliance and Regional Support and may involve collaboration with teams across the department and participation in whole-of-government procurement initiatives.
Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver procurement advice and support services to schools and regional offices to improve purchasing capability and policy compliance.
- Lead the development and delivery of procurement training and capability initiatives to strengthen staff knowledge of procurement and purchasing requirements.
- Develop and maintain procurement procedures, templates and guidance material to support staff undertaking purchasing activities.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders to promote best practice procurement and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Research, analyse and prepare briefing materials, reports and advice to support procurement policy implementation and operational decision-making.
About You:
You will bring strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate procurement policy and procedures into practical guidance for staff across a large organisation. You will demonstrate initiative, sound judgement and a commitment to continuous improvement in procurement practices.
Experience delivering training, developing guidance material, with SharePoint or supporting organisational capability uplift will be highly regarded.
